Nvidia sells AI chips and systems; NVDA tends to move with AI spending, its earnings forecasts, supply and export rules, while customer concentration is a key risk. The shares closed at $206.69 on November 3, 2026, giving a market value of $4.991 trillion at that close.

The most recent results were for the quarter ended July 26, 2026 and were reported on August 26. They included revenue of $96.221 billion.

Key takeaways

  • Nvidia closed at $206.69 on November 3, 2026, worth $4.991 trillion.
  • Data Center accounted for about 92.5% of revenue in the last reported quarter.
  • Two direct customers made up 22% and 14% of last fiscal year's revenue, a concentration risk.

What Nvidia stock is, in plain words

Buying one NVDA share means owning a very small piece of Nvidia Corporation. The share trades on Nasdaq, a US stock exchange, and it is priced in US dollars. For a reader in Sweden, Denmark or the euro area, that means the dollar exchange rate also changes what a move is worth to you.

What Nvidia sells and where the revenue comes from

Nvidia's main product is the GPU, a chip that runs many calculations at the same time. That is exactly what training and running AI models needs. But Nvidia also sells the networking gear and the complete rack-sized systems that tie thousands of those chips together.

In the quarter ended July 26, 2026, Data Center revenue was $89.023 billion, up 117% year over year. That was about 92.5% of total revenue for the quarter.

Over the full year ended January 25, 2026, Nvidia reported two segments: Compute & Networking at $193.479 billion, or 89.6% of segment revenue, and Graphics at $22.459 billion, or 10.4%, out of $215.938 billion in total. Graphics covers gaming cards and professional visualisation.

An example of a planned deployment: on October 27, 2026, Nvidia and Oracle announced plans to expand Oracle's cloud clusters using Vera Rubin systems to multi-gigawatt scale, and Nvidia said Vera Rubin NVL72 systems were generally available on that cloud. On October 28, 2026, Reuters reported that the US Department of Justice was asking whether Nvidia's proposed $12.93 billion acquisition of Hugging Face could harm AI competition. This was an inquiry, not a decision.

What moves Nvidia's share price

Customer spending plans can move Nvidia's share price. Its forecast for the next quarter can also matter. Its ability to supply products can matter too.

Cloud providers have disclosed the following spending plans. In October 2026, Microsoft forecast approximately $170 billion in calendar-year 2026 capital expenditures after delays in third-party capacity deliveries. Amazon said on October 29, 2026 that it still expected approximately $220 billion in cash capital expenditures for calendar 2026. Alphabet kept its 2026 guidance at $195–$205 billion and said spending should increase significantly in 2027. Meta forecast $135–$145 billion for 2026, including principal payments on finance leases. Finance leases are long term agreements to use assets. Our explainer on Microsoft stock covers that spending in more detail.

The revenue trend shows what that money has already bought. Nvidia reported $46.743 billion in the quarter ended July 27, 2025, then $81.615 billion in the quarter ended April 26, 2026, then $96.221 billion in the quarter ended July 26, 2026.

Nvidia quarterly revenue rose to a high of $96.221bn in the quarter ended July 26, 2026.

Supply matters too. On October 21, 2026, Nvidia announced supply-chain agreements intended to increase its capacity to obtain chip substrates 2.5-fold over three years. This is a future expansion rather than capacity in place today.

How to read Nvidia's earnings and valuation

Gross margin is the share of revenue left after the direct cost of making the product. In the quarter ended July 26, 2026, Nvidia reported revenue of $96.221 billion. Its GAAP gross margin was 75.0%. GAAP is a set of US accounting rules. Its GAAP diluted earnings per share was $2.46.

On valuation, the trailing price-to-earnings ratio compares the share price with profits already made. It stood at 26.14 on November 4, 2026. The forward version compares the price with profits analysts expect, and it stood at 17.09 on the same date. A lower forward number does not automatically mean the share is cheap, because the forecast behind it can be revised at any time.

Risks

  • Customer concentration. In the year ended January 25, 2026, two direct customers accounted for 22% and 14% of total revenue, mainly in Compute & Networking.
  • Export rules. Nvidia's latest filing says US licences apply to specified chips including H20 and H200, that H200 shipments require US inspection and carry a 25% US import tariff, and that Nvidia was effectively foreclosed from China's data-centre compute market as of July 26, 2026.
  • Supply dependence. Nvidia does not own its factories. TSMC and Samsung make the silicon discs used to produce its chips. SK Hynix, Micron and Samsung supply memory. Most of this supply chain is in Asia. It reported $279 billion in supply commitments as of July 26, 2026, mostly for memory and manufacturing facilities.
  • Customer spending is guidance, not a contract. Microsoft's own October 2026 forecast already mentioned delays in third-party capacity deliveries.
  • Volatility. Over the year to the November 3, 2026 close, the share traded between $164.27 and $243.37.

Frequently asked questions

When does Nvidia next report results?

Nvidia has scheduled its third-quarter fiscal 2027 results for November 17, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with a call announced on October 28, 2026. As of November 4, 2026, those results had not been published.

Why can Nvidia shares fall after a strong quarter?

Because the reaction depends on the gap between the figures and what investors already expected. The forecast for the next quarter and comments on gross margin often matter more than the headline revenue line. Nvidia's gross margin was 75.0% in the quarter ended July 26, 2026.

Does Nvidia manufacture its own chips?

No. Its annual report for the year ended January 25, 2026 names TSMC and Samsung as wafer makers and Hon Hai, Wistron and Fabrinet as assembly, testing and packaging contractors.

Can Nvidia sell its advanced chips to China?

Only under licence, and with limits. US export rules control advanced-computing chips and require licences for destinations including China. Under a rule effective January 15, 2026, some H200-class applications may get case-by-case review if strict conditions are met. Nvidia said it was effectively foreclosed from China's data-centre compute market as of July 26, 2026.

Is Nvidia also investing in its own customers?

It has announced one such plan. On October 27, 2026, Nvidia and Meta announced an expanded AI-model collaboration, and Nvidia said it would invest $3 billion in Meta's equity offering. The announcement described that investment as forthcoming, not completed.
